Apple's Apple Experience kicks off today at 9 a.m. ET. The question on everyone's mind: will Apple finally address Technology Airtime?
Technology Airtime is defined as the time when you are waiting on the technology, or the technology is waiting on you. It is the gauge for all computer technology — the specification that every device, every operating system, and every application must compete on.
Apple has always been a leader in reducing Technology Airtime. The iPhone eliminated the need to carry a separate phone, camera, and music player. The iPad eliminated the need to carry a laptop. The Apple Watch eliminated the need to take out your phone to check the time.
But there is still more to do. The mouse and the keyboard are still the primary input devices for most Apple computers. And as long as that is true, Technology Airtime will remain a problem.
We will be watching Apple's event closely today. And we will be asking the same question we always ask: how much Technology Airtime will this new product eliminate?
